The excitement never ends on the road with Jim Gaffigan as this week Ted gets an Uber ride from a member of the audience while performing in Albany, finds what to do in Poughkeepsie, and stays warm in the home of Bernie Sanders, Burlington, VT. While there, Ted weighs in on not weighing in on presidential politics and recounts what he learned from his time with Occupy Wall Street. Then in the new segment "The Name Drop" Ted recalls his brush with rock n roll royalty at a dentists' convention sharing a bill with the great Chuck Berry. Next in "Cooking With Ted" the rise of the vegan meatball heralds a new achievement in Ted's culinary capabilities. And finally in "The Catch Up" Ted cold-calls more of his comedian friends, finding Carmen Lynch and Al Madrigal willing to pick up.

Here's the Tempeh "Meatballs" and Spaghetti with Spicy, Slurpy Spaghetti Sauce recipe from "Isa Does It!" by Isa Chandra Moskowitz. A real winner!


1 package spaghetti

For the meatballs:
1 pound tempeh
1 cup water
1 Tbsp. tamari or soy sauce 
1 Tbsp. olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 Tbsp. ketchup
1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. salt
several pinches freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup very finely chopped yellow onion (about pea-sized, for the meatballs to stick together)
1 cup panko bread crumbs 
Olive oil, for panfrying

For the Spicy Slurpy Spaghetti Sauce:

1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped (I just used the other half of the onion from the meatball recipe)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. light brown sugar
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes 
freshly ground black pepper
1 24 oz.can crushed tomatoes with basil
1 tsp. salt
